THE PRACTICE OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT-david45323 (1)

Sitting…receiving…being…

My Essential Self speaks and delivers a wonderful gift which I’m honored to share with all of you: The Gift of Acknowledgement and Self Appreciation.

Here is what I learned:
We don’t thank ourselves for our efforts nearly enough. We don’t take the time to recognize the benefits of our actions, nor do we give ourselves the credit for making the positive choices that we make.

In the end, we don’t know how to acknowledge ourselves, or others for that matter, for our good works. This can change…
The Practice of acknowledgement…the portal to Self-Appreciation and Self Love:

The practice of acknowledgment is the gateway to the sense of personal appreciation and honest self-love. Taking the time to acknowledge oneself and others generates a consistent experience of positive life-affirming energy and fills the body, mind, and spirit with the vibrations of peace, love, and understanding.

Here is a meditation suggestion that will support you in choosing to create the energy of acknowledgement within yourself and others:

At the end of your regular meditation, before you come back to the world around you, spend just a few precious moments receiving and then experiencing the Essence of Gratitude for the insights you have gained through your commitment to your practice.

Now, through the portal of Gratitude, acknowledge your Essential Self. Say thank you for its presence in your life, for its wisdom and its love. Feel your Essential Self thank you for giving it the space and time to speak directly to you. Resonate with the beauty of the Essence of Self Love.

Allow this feeling to flow through your body and mind, ending up in your heart. Let the Essence of quiet appreciation move throughout your entire being, allowing you to come alive with the feelings of unconditional love and the beauty of who you truly are. With this energy moving throughout your entire body and mind, slowly come back to the world and carry that vibration with you into your day.

I encourage you to give yourself a healthy dose of this positive life energy each and every day…each and every moment.
You’ll be glad you did.

Deep Peace and Meraki, my friends….David

Building Our Core of Peace

 gloria_20formalby Gloria Harrison
The Centre for the New Human

At The Centre for the New Human, for our November offering, we had the privilege of hosting Laura Bedford, a true ambassador for Inner Peace. Laura shared stories with us about her adventures walking across America, where she trusted in the abundance of love, compassion and basic resources coming her way from the hearts of all the people she met along her path. Laura exudes inner peace and joy, as evidenced by the words she chooses to express and how she expresses them, by the openness to everyone that she displays, and by the calming energy she holds as she interacts with others. Laura has developed this “inner muscle” through her choices to let go, to greatly simplify her life, and to truly “walk her talk” as she continues to Walkabout the World Supporting Inner Peace and Healing Joy. She is a living example for all of us, of the importance of building our core of inner peace; for each of us as individuals, for our families, for our community, for America, and for the world, as global citizens.

In this current period of great divisiveness, not only in our country, but even within our families and friendships, we are clearly seeing the extremes in the ways we express our anger, our disappointments, and our fears. This is not a time, however, to judge others’ behaviors and beliefs; even though everything in us wants to do just that. It is a time to develop that core muscle in the direction of creating inner peace. “As within, so without.” We do not necessarily have to take Laura’s path, walking across the country with a very small footprint; we can do this right here where we are, in our daily walkabout in our own community. By taking that moment to pause before we engage with others who might be expressing a thought or belief we do not agree with, we can then thoughtfully respond, rather than merely reacting. By taking the time to deeply listen to that person without judgment, asking instead, “what are the fears being expressed here?” we can gain a glimpse into the mirror of our own fears. By expressing our own beliefs and opinions, not in a way that says “you should think like me,” but in such a way that allows our innate wisdom to emerge; we can then find common ground and connection.

These are just three of the ways we can develop that inner core of peace. Engaging in a spiritual practice, meditating, surrounding ourselves with symbolic reminders, helping others in need, creating ritual, reducing our carbon footprint, minimizing our consumerism, and walking in nature are some other ways. I am challenging myself to engage in “exercises” that will build that muscle. I challenge you to do the same. If not now, when?

The Centre for the New Human will call you back to our next offering on Sunday, January 15, 2017. As you gather with family and friends over this holiday season, may you be reminded in myriad ways of what’s truly important; expressing from your heart, manifesting gratitude and loving kindness, and forgiving self and others.

The Power of Your Word

mandy_kingby Mandy King

Thoughts are like weather systems. Storms brew, sunshine brings growth, rain softens, volcanos erupt, a calm, clear day is pleasant and so on. When we speak, we unleash our weather upon the world. We have witnessed the power of the word over the last several months in our political scene and the results are in our face. Fighting, hatred, divisiveness, families and friends at odds, civil unrest and disobedience have swept across our land like a tidal wave. Where will we end up? That depends on us.

Listen to your thoughts and the words you speak, especially the words and phrases you repeat habitually. Do they serve Love or fear? Are they complaints or compliments? Do they criticize or encourage? Intimidate or elevate? Do they feel open, expansive and relaxed or hard, tense and aggravating? It doesn’t matter if you express it to yourself or others, your subconscious absorbs it like a sponge and uses it to create your reality. And then your reality contributes to the collective. Clearly, we are long overdue for some mental potty-training.

We have the power to generate positive outcome, personally and collectively but we must take full responsibility for our thoughts, attitudes, emotions and words. We get to choose what we allow to live within us. If a thought creates an unpleasant feeling or shuts you down, it’s not a thought worth keeping. Can it and invite in a happier, healthier and more helpful thought. If the words flying out of your mouth taste like poison darts, stop talking.

We can deliver our Truth with kindness. We can stand in our power without hating or blaming anyone else. Love is always in our hearts. We just need to flood it into our minds and mouths. Speak with love and love is where we will end up. Aho!

Be the Love,
Mandy King

Tarot Reading for December 2016

laura.abernathyby Laura Abernathy, CPC, ELI-MP

When thinking of the Wise Awakening community, I feel confident in thinking that it leans more liberal and moderate than conservative. So I’ve concluded that you will agree that we all experienced a tremendous shock with Trump’s win. I reread my November tarot article the day after the election. Once again, I witnessed the ‘dead on’ accuracy in tarot! The Strife card was correct, both in its archaic and common meanings. The “positive stress” showed up in communal grief, intense desire to find the lesson in the loss and to move forward to heal what we had not even seen was wounded. The card described that we would feel “a sense of the increase of power in our Divine Will to transform, and it digs in for a fight.” How more accurate could the reading have gotten?

In Decembmooner we have been given a trump card, the Moon. This brings us to a choice point. It is a time for tests of our sincerity and deep inner reflection. It calls for unconquerable courage to maneuver through the dark abyss in our return to the Light. We must guard against feeling terrified and lost, and declare an emotional boundary with discouragement, self-doubt and confusion.

Know that there is great risk of becoming lost here forever. In times like this it is possible to forget or betray all that was learned and gained beforehand. There is high likelihood of Souls “falling asleep” during this time of decreasing light. To avoid this, we must keep always in our mind and heart’s eye the image of the Sun in its “silence”, as it is a portent of forthcoming renewal.

On the positive side of things, we are not alone in this dangerous December journey. There are many mythological stories of the Soul being assisted by Higher Forces in this type of work. Anubis, the Egyptian god of Watching or Guarding (and a form of Thoth), stands at the gateway of death to assist the Soul in its transition to the next world. Odysseus’s return voyage to his home in Ithaca. Dante’s journey through the Inferno. Remember that this is a test on the path of the hero/shero’s journey. The result of the election was the Tower card shocking us with a short and swift breakthrough. Now we face the “dark night of the soul”; the long, difficult and slow return to the light from the depths of darkness. They have gone low, so we go high. We will need to use ALL of the tools in our spiritual tool belts, and be on the lookout to add even more of them.

[Note: There are 22 trump cards, also called the Major Arcana, in a tarot deck. Each one describes a chapter in the hero/shero’s journey. This journey can be described as the Soul embarking on a quest to “Know Thyself”, returning home as a fully conscious Being, ready to fulfill one’s unique life purpose. Another way I like to describe this journey is the experience of traveling up the Tree of Life to “see the face of God”, and returning to the physical realm, alive and sane. For you left brain readers….the 22 trump cards start with zero – the Fool – and end with twenty one – the Universe (World).]

Color Yourself Healthier

By Cheryl McNulty, LMP, Mind Body Spirit Fusion Unioncheryl

One of the latest health trends for adults is coloring. Really! Adult coloring books, classes, and even phone apps have appeared rapidly over the last few years. As odd as it may sound, it’s a health fad that offers real benefits. Research done at Johns Hopkins University suggests that coloring can be just as effective as meditation.

Adult coloring books first came on the scene about 10 years ago and have exploded in popularity in the last four years. Dover Books offers a wide variety of themed coloring books, including famous works of art, various cultures, and mandalas. Many of the company’s adult coloring books are available locally at Dakota Art Store. The store also offers a wide variety of coloring tools, including crayons, markers, pastels, and pencils—even some that yield a watercolor look when the coloring is gone over with a damp brush. Apps and other online tools make coloring available on computer or phone, too.

Adult coloring shouldn’t be confused with art therapy, which uses a wide variety of techniques as well as a trained art therapist. Art therapy has prescribed for mental health issues for over 100 years. Coloring doesn’t need to be prescribed or supervised by an art therapist, so it’s an inexpensive form of self-care.

Coloring helps: reduce stress; improve mental focus and clarity; distract from addiction and other compulsive behaviors; and increases self-esteem. Like meditating, coloring helps to alleviate negative or obsessive thought processes by focusing on the task at hand and being in the moment. A 2005 study found that participants who colored mandalas had a significant decrease in anxiety levels compared to those who did random drawing or doodling. Carl Jung prescribed coloring to his patients as part of their regular therapy.

For those with children (of any age), coloring together can boost relationships. With the hands and minds engaged in a pleasant, undemanding task, it’s often easier to open up and talk about issues or concerns without judgment and without the conversation escalating. Adult coloring helps younger children see their parents as people who enjoy and need to play as well, which will help them build better self-care habits as they mature.

The diversion of coloring can help a person refocus on a problem or see it from a different perspective, enabling solutions to emerge. Coloring can be one of the easiest and safest ways to combat stress and anxiety, with the added bonus of some pretty awesome artwork to hang on your walls. While doing your holiday shopping, be sure to get some coloring books and tools for yourself too.

Stellar Perspectives from Hungary

by Dr. Beatrix Czeizel & Anikó Greskóbeatrixczeizel_anikogresko__2_

“Tat tuam asi” – “Thou Art That” – In Truth, All is One

…We stepped into a mystery of birth, when the Creator breathed life into the contours drawn by the idea-waves of the universe and S/he created the universe, and then this galaxy within that. With each breath from Source, different stellar points awakened across the dark blue screen of the cosmic sky, and celestial bodies, planets and stellar systems were born, waiting , as Celestial cradles, for the sparks of life.

And then another breath followed, out of which the invisible hand sprinkled thirteen different life-seeds into the fertile wombs of these stellar worlds, so that the thirteen-colored dream of Creation might burst into life. Each life-seed was assigned a different mission, or destiny code.

The charge to be caretakers of the Divine dream-spark and to serve as the guards of creation was assigned to the Nation of the Unicorns. Then came the Stellar Nation of the Angels, given the mission to transmit the creative ideas of Source and to be caretakers, keepers and protectors of life in all the imagined worlds, maintaining the highest principle of Divine Will, order and law.

And then, because the different celestial bodies, solar systems and planets were separated from one another by many billions of light years, the Stellar Nation of the Pegasus was called to life. The Pegasus Nation was charged with connecting the diverse life-scenes that emerged in all the stellar cradles. Pegasus souls travel throughout the galaxy establishing special golden bridges and threads of light as cosmic ethereal meridians. Thus the scattered parts of the Universal One are continuously connected; smoothed into the unity of one giant galactic light-body.

And so Creation continued to define the stellar pathways and destiny codes of all the thirteen nations.

The Stellar Nation of the Cosmic Humans was birthed with an exceptional charge: to receive the seeds and codes of all the other nations into itself. This is reflected in the celestial name of this nation: An Rama Holana Om, meaning “Eternal Universal Chalice of Life”.

Thus the human has the cosmic fate of letting everything—meaning the spiritual codes of all the stellar nations—into themselves and realizing these codes through the cycles of Life, in countless faces of experiencing. Our myths carry remnants of these long forgotten memories. These strains of Creation, as distinct forces and energies, are really very much a part of us; are actually who we are and are meant to be.

The Creator launched the human with the charge: “You are free! Be whoever you want to be! You can be anyone, I give it all to you. Let the entire Milky Way Galaxy become the stage of your lives.” But in turn the Creator also charged humans with taking responsibility for their decisions and with carrying their experiences to completion. That is perhaps why there are certain experiences a human cannot escape, no matter how they might seek to delay or distract themselves away from them over the course of years, or even lives.

In the cosmic history, humans did rebel and deny their fate, deciding to be “only themselves”. They rejected all these other soul influences, refusing to hold them and allow them expression. This denial is still unresolved and the breech echoes loudly in our world today. Eventually humans, individually and collectively, must return to their destined pathway, bring it to completion and take their memories and experiences, as a gift, back to the Creator.

2017 is the Year of the Cosmic Human. This means we enter a period of a collective initiation, an opportunity to burn through the shadow qualities of this Nation. We are called to reclaim our original destiny path of inclusiveness, of holding, of being the Universal Chalices of Life. Over the following months, we will provide more insight and guidance about this from the stellar realms.

Creating Sacred Holiday Space

dp_profileby Diana Pepper of Tree Frog Farm

It’s the Holiday Season again, time for gatherings with family and friends! Here are some tips for creating sacred space for the Holidays. There are two levels of setting the energy to create sacred space for celebration and worship. The first level is to clear the emotional, psychological and microbial influences that may have been left in the space. These may have been released during daily activities and interactions, illness, shock or trauma. Angels of Light Aromatherapy/Flower Essence Mister (Diana LaDue Hand’s personal favorite) clears the first level by releasing the shadows of the past, setting up white light clearing and inviting in angelic protection for a space or person. It also clears microbial influences.

The second level of setting a sacred space is to invite sacred energies into your home, a room, an outdoor area or your energy fields. Sacred Energies Flower Essence Blend starts at the second level to bring the energy of higher consciousness into an area or space. The flower essences of this blend set a high frequency resonance that connects you with your multidimensional self that is accessed through the higher consciousness in your energy fields, chakras, higher brain and higher heart functions. It comes in a base of brandy with a dropper top or in a refreshing herbal/vinegar base with a spray top. The spray is easier to use for creating sacred space.

To enhance the Holiday Spirit, try our Yuletide Blessings Aromatherytb_wa__2_apy/Flower Essence Mister. Its scent reminds me of evergreen boughs and holiday baking. Feelings of peace, love, compassion and the presence of angels will fill your festive Holiday gathering.

The Angels of Light and Yuletide Blessings Aromatherapy Misters and the Sacred Energies Flower Essence Blend are available at Wise Awakening. Or contact me for a custom blend of essences. My next practitioner day at Wise Awakening is Thursday, December 8th. Call 360-758-7260 to schedule.
